NBFT Sponsors Edcamp Urban

The North Bergen Federation of Teachers is a proud sponsor of Edcamp Urban. Edcamp Urban is a new Hudson County FREE professional development user-generated conference - commonly referred to as an “unconference". Edcamp Urban is:

• FREE

• non-commercial and conducted with a vendor-free presence

• made up of sessions that are determined on the day of the event

• events where anyone who attends can be a presenter

• reliant on the “law of two feet” that encourages participants to find a session that meets their needs

Through donations, the Edcamp Urban non-profit foundation provides a light breakfast and lunch. There are a variety of free prizes offered to participants from educational companies such as Flipgrid, IPEVO, Chromville, Nearpod, MakeyMakey, Buncee, Grammarflip, etc. As an added incentive, Professional Development hours / certificates are awarded to participants (6 hrs of PD). Teachers are encouraged to sit and attend the sessions OR they can present a session on their classroom practices to share with other teachers in Hudson County. Everyone is an educational rockstar at Edcamp Urban!
