North Bergen High School held its annual 9/11 memorial service on September 11, 2015 at 10 a.m in front of the school. Superintendent Dr. George Solter began the remembrance with a heartwarming speech. The NBHS' Advanced Chorus, under the direction of Music District Supervisor George Haviland, sang the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America. Two music students from the NBHS band also performed the melancholy tradition, Taps. To end, Mayor Nicholas J. Sacco gave a short speech in remembrance of the North Bergen alumni who perished on 9/11. A wreath was placed on the stone memorial, remembering the Fallen Bruins of 9/11. It was a simple, beautiful ceremony. In times of remembrance, it is important that we, as a school community, stand together. We stand strong always.
